Self-Hosted AI Employee OS
Create AI employees. Connect your business tools. Turn instructions into real work.
DOER is a self-hosted AI employee and business automation platform that helps you organize, execute, and monitor real business workflows using configurable AI employees.
Instead of repeatedly asking an AI assistant to perform individual tasks, you can create employees with defined roles, connect the tools they need, assign work, and let DOER manage execution through planning, approvals, and result verification.
Built for developers, agencies, and businesses that want AI-powered workflows running on their own infrastructure.
From Instructions to Execution
Assign work, not just prompts.
DOER follows a structured workflow:
Ask → Plan → Observe → Reason → Approve → Execute → Verify
Assign an objective to an AI employee. DOER prepares a structured plan, gathers relevant information, executes permitted actions, and records the outcome.
When an action requires human approval, execution pauses for review. Completed actions are checked against defined success criteria, helping you distinguish actual results from attempted actions.
Everything You Need to Operate AI Employees
- Configurable AI Employees — Create employees with dedicated roles, instructions, skills, AI models, resources, operating limits, and approval policies.
- AI-Powered Task Execution — Turn natural-language assignments into structured execution plans with controlled reasoning and observation-based replanning.
- Business Integrations — Connect Gmail, Google Sheets, WordPress, HTTP APIs, webhooks, and web research services.
- Workflow Automation — Trigger reusable tasks manually, through schedules, incoming webhooks, or Gmail events.
- Business Knowledge — Give employees access to approved documents, uploaded files, and website content with searchable knowledge sources.
- Human Approval Controls — Review sensitive operations before employees perform approved external actions.
- Durable Runs and Verification — Track execution steps, retries, checkpoints, outcomes, and verification evidence.
- Self-Hosted Administration — Manage workspaces, employees, integrations, activity, permissions, provider configuration, and runtime health from one web application.
Built for Practical Business Work
Sales Research & Outreach
Research potential customers, collect supporting information, qualify opportunities, and prepare personalized outreach drafts.
Customer Support Operations
Review customer conversations, retrieve information from connected knowledge sources, and prepare context-aware email responses.
Research & Information Gathering
Search the web, investigate businesses or topics, gather relevant evidence, and produce structured findings.
Content & Publishing Workflows
Work with connected WordPress content, prepare drafts, update existing posts, and manage approval-controlled publishing actions.
Spreadsheet & Data Operations
Read and update Google Sheets data as part of defined business workflows.
These examples illustrate supported workflows. Actual execution depends on the employee’s configuration, connected services, permissions, and available AI model capabilities.
Connect Your Existing Tools
DOER integrates with Gmail, Google Sheets, WordPress, HTTP APIs, outgoing webhooks, and web search through Brave Search or SearXNG.
AI provider integrations support OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and OpenRouter.
Connect the services your employees require, then control which skills and resources each employee can access.
Give AI Employees the Knowledge They Need
Add business context through manually entered information, supported document uploads, or website knowledge sources.
DOER supports document processing, website synchronization, version-aware indexing, and hybrid knowledge retrieval.
Employees can search their explicitly assigned knowledge sources while performing work, helping them use relevant business information rather than relying only on general model knowledge.
No separate vector database is required for the supported self-hosted baseline.
Automation With Human Oversight
DOER combines automated execution with configurable operational controls.
Employees operate within assigned permissions and budgets. Sensitive actions can require explicit human approval, while execution checkpoints, retries, and result verification help manage multi-step tasks.
The system records run history and activity so operators can review progress, investigate failures, and understand what happened during execution.
Built for Your Own Infrastructure
DOER runs on a Node.js and PostgreSQL architecture with separate Web, API, and Worker services.
Its self-hosted deployment model allows you to manage the application infrastructure, database, service credentials, and runtime configuration.
The platform includes workspace-based access roles, encrypted credential storage, integration health checks, and production readiness tooling.
Technical Requirements
Runtime: Node.js 24.x
Package Manager: pnpm 10.15.1 through Corepack
Database: PostgreSQL 15 or newer
Services: Web, API, and background Worker
Production: HTTPS-enabled hosting with support for persistent Node.js processes
A properly configured server environment and PostgreSQL database are required. Docker is optional.
External AI models and connected services require their own accounts, credentials, and applicable API access. Third-party usage charges may apply and are not included with DOER.
Take Control of Your AI Workflows
Create employees. Define their capabilities. Connect your tools. Assign work. Review the results.
DOER brings AI-driven business execution, automation, operational oversight, and self-hosted control together in one platform.
